Susan manages the website design and other web services, while Geoff manages the ‘behind-the-scenes’ infrastructure and our hosting at Hosted Safe.
Website Designs Australia exists to enable small businesses, organizations and individuals to have their own website without the high price tag that usually comes with a premium design.
We also manage our own commercial websites in fields other than website design. One in particular is our own online ‘Private Label Rights’ store.
We are very familiar with the necessity of a website to be more than ‘pretty’ to achieve its goal of attracting readers and customers. With this experience we have been able to help others gain a successful internet presence for themselves or their entity.
Susan also was (and still is) an SEO geek – for about 5 years she lived and breathed off-page SEO. It was her passion and she tested and re-tested what worked and what didn’t.
Today, instead of focusing all her attention on off-page SEO for achieving desired spots in the SERP’s, Susan leans towards assisting clients with their social media marketing. Why? The answer is simple. ‘Real’ people are found on social media and their excitement sends the right signals to the search engines, whereas to rank on the front page of Google takes lots of time and patience and good marketing tactics, not quick, fast and bad marketing techniques.
Therefore as most people want to have things happen yesterday or tomorrow, Susan doesn’t make promises she can’t keep. Plus, the major search engines look at ‘true’ ranking signals, not manipulated ones.
In addition to assisting entrepreneurs with new websites, makeovers and improvements, we have successfully completed design and repair projects for government departments and non-government, charitable and not-for-profit organizations.
At Website Designs Australia we take pride in making every project the best it can be. We are very personable and approachable and consider ongoing communication with potential and existing customers to be key to our success. We are happy to provide insight and guidance into what is YOUR website.
Website Management
Susan builds our clients websites on WordPress and uses the Genesis Framework. WordPress is the most popular CMS (Content Management System) due to its accessibility and relative ease of use.
WordPress websites are designed for the user and once created, can be maintained and updated by you, the owner/user. Of course, if you lack either time or confidence, this can be done by a third party. We offer inexpensive website management if you so desire.
Many website designs are not user friendly and therefore you need to contact your web designer every-time you wish to add a page to your website. As there is an hourly rate involved, it can become quite costly.
Sadly, we have seen others pay a large up-front price for what we consider a basic website, tied into an expensive ongoing contract that delivers little more than web hosting and then have to pay even more for any necessary later update or alteration.

Web Designs and Layouts
We can show you a huge range of designs and layouts to choose from, which we can customize to create your unique internet presence. We will show you how to manage your site easily, with the use of video tutorials, or we can manage it for you. There are no long-term contracts.
You own your website! You own the domain name and you are free to choose alternative web hosting if you desire. You always have control.
We are very accessible and approachable and we will assist with every reasonable request.
As we operate our own websites, we are very aware of the need for gaining recognition by the major search engines such as Google, Bing and Yahoo.
We spend time with on-page search engine optimization, which really means making sure all the behind-the-scenes ‘meta’ tags and descriptions are correct. This helps with getting your website ‘noticed’ by the search engines. It is of no benefit to a business, to have a fantastic looking website that no one knows about or one that can’t be found.
Onsite SEO is a big part of every website we build.
